Did you live in manningham in bradford in the 70s? |
do you remember sloane sq flats? i cant find any info on them at all on the web. and i fancied going down memory lane. well whetley lane any way No, but I remember going to Dollars & Dimes to see Bernard Manning (He was crap) they maybe knocked down now I certainly do! I lived in Girlington Road in the mid 60's to mid 70's, and still live in Bradford. As a social worker, I get to travel this great City on a daily basis so I'm pretty clued up with what's happening. Sloane Square was given a MAJOR re-vamp 15 or so years ago and was re-named Regency Court. Unfortunately thse flats soon began to take on a tatty appearence, partly due, I think, to inferior build quality and partly due to the fact that many were purchase on a 'buy to let' basis... there's a new Morrisons supermarket Girlington, and if you ever get the chance to go there, get urself a coffee in the cafe and peruse the old photo's on the walls - there's a great scene looking up Whetley Lane towards Sloane Square! |
