Yes. But he moved to the US when he was young, and some of his poems were originally written in English, some in Arabic. His most famous work is called "The Prophet," which is a love story with Christian and mystical themes.

He was a Lebanese-American artist, poet and writer who spent most his life in the US.

Are u serious? Gibran Kahlil Gibran! one of the greatest poems and writers!!! yea he is Lebanese.. The Prophet, never heard of it? it's like his masterpiece! he is a painter and a sculpture as well!! I was raised on that man's books and thoughts!! He has a musuem in Bsharreh area as well.. he is gret thinker and philosopher, has many books... u should read for him, google him and read some of his works. here are some quotes:

One of the best Poets in Middle East and the World, He is a philosopher too, and also painter, I saw his paints, Also a writer, his book "The Prophet" was the best seller in USA ,

I like his poem "sakan al layl" , which was sang by fairouz , the Greatest Singer in Lebanon and middle east and in the world too.
