It's not an unlikely scenario, but the truth is that Lebanon is just too small, too weak and too divided.

What do you suggest gets done? follow your beloved America? look at Palestine, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Africa, south America....
Americans don't fix problems, it's either that it's not in their best interest to fix or they must be the champions of stuff ups.

Our sad reality is that we are placed strategically enough for people to want us and one way or another we are going to be "given" to someone in return for a favour.
