Is it possible to drink and maybe gamble with a UK fake drivers license in the US (Vegas included) ?

Hi, my name's Archie and I'm 19 from the UK. My friends and I are planning a trip to the USA (California, Nevada and Arizona) to see the world renouned sights and events that it has to offer.

Coming from the UK we have a more relaxed vue of drinking and gambling (within reason of course) and we hope, with the use of a fake UK drivers licence, to be able to go to clubs, bars and maybe a casino or two in Las Vegas.
In addition it would be nice to see some boxing in Vegas.

I myself would like to know whether this is possible. Have you done it before? Tried or failed I would be greatful for any advice. Do they use card scanners in Vegas?
Obviously drinking isn't the be all and end all about going to America, but it would be nice to have a few 'home comforts' when we're there!

I appreciate that this may anger some people and you have every right to tell me where to get off but, before we decide to go ahead with it it would be great to have some advice -

Here is the deal. It is totally up to you if you attempt this and get caught. The casinos do not have a guard or someone checking ID's as you walk into the Casino. The trick is, find an empty or almost empty drink that someone has set down, pick it up and order another of the same. Once you have your "own" drink, you can carry it from Casino to Casino. There are no laws against carrying a drink into a Casino or walking on the street with an open beer or drink.

You definitely DO NOT want to try entering Las Vegas casinos using a fake I.D. They will spot it in an instant. The management of the casinos have too much experience with this kind of problem for you to get away with it. They operate multi-million dollar enterprises, and will not put their licenses at risk by tolerating either under age gamblers, or drinkers in their facilities. You must be 21 years old in the United States to enter a gambling casino, or to purchase / consume liqueur.

You may be able to pull this off in California, but both Arizona and Nevada are a VERY conservative states, and they are not the places to be trying anything illegal.

PS: Although you did not ask, but for your information prostitution is legal in licensed brothels in some counties of Nevada, but totally illegal in Clark County, (Las Vegas)..

Serves you right if you get caught. We have enough illegal crap going on here as it is. Stay in the UK if you want to drink and gamble.

People try and use fake ID in Vegas but if you get caught they take the ID and can call the police who will charge you.

I am not sure if there will be any boxing when you come. Check out www.lasvegasnow.com for information. You do not have to be 21 to go to boxing, just gamble, drink and club.

The legal age for gambling or gaming in the State of Nevada is 21 years of age. Casinos are expected to adhere to very strict rules to maintain their gaming licenses. Children under the age of 21 are not allowed in the casino area nor allowed to linger in the casino area while a parent is gambling.

I could see possibly getting away with drinking depending on the bar, but I wouldn't attempt gambling. What if you win a big amount? You wont get the money and you will get in a lot of trouble!

Just in response to the person who said perhaps at the Tropicana: I went there every night for the 5 dollar tables and I was carded every time, every table! Maybe they got in trouble and are taking it more serious now or something??

Be advised! Vegas is one of the few places in the world where bartenders, doormen, security, etc... take classes to learn about fake ID & how to spot them. Most will just ask you to leave.

I used to be a food and beverage manager in vegas (ran the bars and cocktail waitresses and resturants and pool)
And im not sayin but im sayin if you go to the Hooters Casino in vegas, tropicana and Las Vegas Blvd, across the street from the MGM, you have a good chance of getting away with it. But 98% of other casinos/bars in vegas you will get busted

Is the Id your real pic? If it is you'll be fine. Dealers have no idea what a real license from the UK looks like and they probably dont care. They just need to be seen on camera checking it. As for the casinos, I got carded at about 75% of the tables i went to when I was 22( 2 years ago) and they hardly glanced at it. If it doesnt look like complete **** your in the clear. I would stick to black jack and tables games though, you dont wanna win that million at a slot and then get caught
