What is a good tour to take from vegas to the canyon?

We are going to las vegas and would like to see the grand canyon. what is the difference from the sth to west rim, how long does it take to get there and how much will it cost? is it worth going may never do it again????

most helicopter rides from Vegas go to the west rim and go over Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam and land inside the Canyon by the Colarado river.Trip time 3 -4 hours. Most bus rides go to the South Rim.Thats were you get to stand at the edge and look half a mile straight down and its were the National Park is.. Trip time 15-16 hours

There are two rims of the Grand Canyon - one in Utah (west) and one in AZ (south). AZ is a year-round place while UT is not due to winter conditions.

You can take a helicopter (near $300) but that is very expensive. Take a bus tour (under $100) while you relax to and from Vegas, enjoying the desert scenery. And then when you get to the Canyon you are not worn out.

The Grand Canyon is a sight not to miss. You can also walk part-way down the canyon or take a burro ride. Make sure you have your camera but you can buy a DVD of the experience, too. Mother Nature created over millenium this wonder of water and weather. Pictures and words are not adequate to describe the beauty and wonder.

Do not miss it.

We took a helicopter from Vegas to the Canyon, via the Dam, flew through the Canyon and then flew to a Ranch nearby for supper with the cowboys. Good old sing song around a campfire, and an interesting drive back via the Dam (looks amazing all lit up at night), all for about 拢350 for the two of us a couple of years ago with heliusa I think it was.

We have also chosen to drive it before, taking in Route 66 on the way, staying at a hotel near to the entrance of the Canyon - watched the sunset that time, all totally unforgettable whichever way you choose to see it.

The Canyon offers a memory for a lifetime - dont miss it whatever you decide to do it!

Apparently someone has an issue with geography as they got their locations wrong.

The West Rim of the Grand Canyon is located in Arizona as are the South and North Rims. The West Rim is only a 2-hour drive from Las Vegas, the South is 5-6 hours. At the West Rim you have the Hualapais which offers tours along the canyon rim to see Eagle Point and Guano Point. At Eagle point is the Skywalk...expensive but somewhat worth it.

The South Rim is near Tusayan and offers spectacular ground and air tours. On the ground, you can find great curio shops, museums, viewpoints, and historic hotels. On air tours you can view the Colorado River, amazing rock formations, and fly over the East and North edge of the canyon.

If I had to recommend either of the rims, I'd go for the South. Plenty of options and a lot of fun...but definitely more costly.

Research various travel companies. There are several out there that offer decent prices and good tour options.

Have fun! The canyon is a blast.

Go by helicopter, so relaxing. Maverick are the best.
