What school should I go to?

My friend just bought a home in Vegas and said he can rent me a room for $425 a month. So I have been working towards going to a UC school and was planning on moving down to san diego where my family is. My problem is should I move to Las vegas where it's much easier to find a job and cheap rent or to san diego where i have family and the beach. If i go to vegas i have to pay more for school for out of state student and it will be much harder to transfer to a UC if i decide to come back.

Yes, you can rent for less in Vegas but is it safe?
School is important and Southern California has great schools. It's nice to be near family and the beach. Vegas is nice but your not a tourist and it's for tourists who spend a week or less there.
