Help with driving from Vegas to Los Angeles...?

We are playing to drive from Vegas to LA (Burbank). Is it a scenic route? Are there any things to see along the way? Do we drive through Death Valley? What's the best way to drive this route? How long does it take?
Thanks in advance...

I-15 South out of Vegas, boring drive. When you get close to Baker, expect traffic congestion because of construction. Once you get past Baker, you will go by beautiful downtown Yermo. Also known as "Poke and Plumb". You poke your head out the window and you are plumb out of town. You will see a lot of desert and Joshua trees. Then there is Barstow. Wow. Great town. As you get closer to LA the scenery will get better, for what you can see through the smog. Think Vegas gets bad? Just wait. You are looking at a 4 to 5 hour drive until you get stalled out in traffic just outside LA. Bring drinks and snacks.

Rout 15 south and it is a beautiful ride. I am from the east coast originally so I find this breath taking. You can stop at Baker, Barstow and Victorville and then San Bernandino for gas and easts.

Skip the Mad Greek it is overrated. Not that good on the food and costrly. Also gas is high all along the route. They really spike the price out there, but you need it.

I try to make the drvie after 8 p.m. and before 5 a.m. to miss traffic. also at night when the road is without many cars the cops do not hassle you if youhit 80=90.. Been up to 100 seveal times and they let you fly if you are safe and do not change lanes.

Enjoy the trip

It's an awful drive and will take you 4-5 hours.
You are better off driving in the middle of the night
Better yet, grab a cheap flight on Southwest

No you do NOT drive thru Death Valley on the way to LA, a four-hour plus drive.

You will drive through a nice scenic mountain area before you start the decent into the area near LA.

On the way you may want to stop at Apple Valley where the Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Museum is.

Otherwise, stop to eat, potty and get gas. You don't want to hit LA during rush hour!

here is the way i used to go, no traffic for the most part.

15 south, get off on the Nipton exit which is the 2nd exit once you get into cali. turn east.

go about 10 miles to morning star road, you can only turn south on to it.

Follow that for 40 miles or so till you get to KelsoCima highway. again you can only turn right on to it.

Take that to the Cima train station, turn right go over the tracks.

Take that road all the to route 66 and head west, that puts you in 29palms by the marine base. turn south go through the town, head towards palm springs and take interstate to LA,
