Nature, yes ....nature is good.

I think it's called Red Rock Canyon, it's a very short drive out of Vegas but it's certainly off the strip.

You can go anywhere south of the strip and see the sunset. Pretty cool over the mountains when there is no wind. :) If your driving anywhere west of the strip is ok.

The best place to watch a sunset in Las Vegas is from the Stratosphere tower

Sunset - depends on how far you want to go "outside" LV

The Grand Canyon is an awesome sight especially at sunset.

The Mt Charleston - Toiyabe National Forest, is far and away our favorite place to visit for outdoor activities "near" LV. Mt Charleston is about 12,000ft high, they have camping, hiking, picnic grounds and beautiful old growth forest. The views are incredible and it's only about 35 miles North of LV on I-95

During the summer it's a great spot to escape the heat and during the winter you can ski & snowboard.

We may be the only ones, but we do not care for Red Rock Canyon at all. We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years. We enjoy playing tour guide for friends and family, but we draw the line at RRC, if they insist on going we give them directions and the keys.

Lake Mead is a nice spot to watch a sunset, but it's like "djs" said, you want to make sure the wind isn't blowing, or you will get sandblasted.

There are several options. The first and probably the best is Red Rock Canyon. A short 20 min drive from the strip on a good day and away from the lights and sounds of the city.

Mt. Charleston is awesome as well, near Catherdral Rock, the main lodge area. The colors and sounds are wonderful, especially in the summer!

Lake Mead. Take the scenic loop through the park and be amazed at what beauty is around you.

If you are into hiking, there is a small 5.6 miles round trip hike in Boulder City that you can take and it has a park bench on top of that you can sit and enjoy the sunset while glancing over the city.

RED ROCK CAYON OFF THE STRIP AND ON THE STRIP STARTOSPHERE TOWER...GOOD LUCK!

You don't have to go far. Drive west on Flamingo and you will find a nice park at the corner of Jones. OR, just go to the top of the Orleans Hotel (west of Tropicanan Hotel) and you will see the beautiful sunset of our desert.

And if you get a hotel room on Strip that faces west you will have a perfect view of the sunset on the Red Rock area.

Lake Mead, or Valley of Fire parks are my favorites!
