What is the best route to take from Los Angeles to Las Vegas on a Friday morning at 10 a.m.?

thats your best bet.

Take the 101 Ventura fwy South and join the 134 fwy East around Universal City heading towards Burbank. The 134 becomes 210 fwy in Pasadena. Continue on 210 East to 15 fwy North around Ontario. Continue on 15 fwy for 220 miles and you will be in Sin City.
At 10am you will be travelling against LA rush hour traffic and should be ok traffic wise, but remember a lot of people are doing the same thing, heading out of town for the weekend.
