Does anyone have information about a large safe in the city of Carcassonne, France? It has a steel rod lock.? |
My Grandfather, a retired Lt. Col. in the US Army, told me about this safe he saw in the French city of Carcassonne. It is about 8 feet high and 4 feet wide. It has a combination lock made up of steel rods. He discovered this at the end of World War II, when he was on leave in the city. I'd like to find out more information about the safe and what it's contents are. Thanks! It wasn't in a building, which is what makes it so interesting to me. It was just this huge safe/vault type thing outside. It was either against or on a wall. I wish I knew a street, or "neighborhood" but that is where I'm stumped. Thanks for the help! I tried to google for it but nothing appeared on the French web. Where did he see it, in a bank? |
