How can i celebrate korean new year?

i live with a korean in my apartment. next week will be the korean new year but he has no plans of celebrating it...BUT i want to prepare something for him... (actually, it will be my peace offering)..

how can i celebrate it? just simply, though...

btw, we are in the philippines...

Tell him the New Years Greeting:

Sae Hae Bok Mah-nee Bah-doh Say Yo

means something like "blessings for the new year"

Korean people eat a special soup on newyears called "dokk guk" it's a rice cake soup. You might be able to find it at a nearby Korean restaurant. They also eat a special kind of new years rice cake. Those I'm sure you can find at a Korean Market. Family and friends also give gifts such as large bottles of soju or boxes of fruit.

If you give him the rice cake, maybe a small bottle of soju, and tell him the greeting, i know he'll be happy.

Why don't you prepare a nice dinner for him? I think he would like that.
