What are the differences between nightclubs in the U.S. and nightclubs in Korea?

In my experiences the biggest differences are these:

1) U.S. is much stricter on checking I.D. In Korea, you generally will not be checked unless you look like a) a middle schooler, b) drunk or c) an unwanted guest.
2) U.S. has parking.
3) Korea is more expensive.
4) Korea usually requires you to order some kind of food.
5) There are more tables and chairs in Korea.
6) In Korea, straight men dance with men.
7) Clubs stay open later in Korea.

Is there anything else?

Clubs in Seoul are way more packed.
They don't start getting busy until midnight.
More people from different parts of the world in Korean clubs. That's pretty obvious.
You can passput in the bar and not get kicked out.
More selection of beer in western culture.
Girl in Korea show more skin on average.
Korean girls are thinner than western girls on average.
More guys dancing on tables.
They play way more hip hop in Korean clubs.
Few play rock music in Korea.
A country night club is extreme rare in Seoul.
Most clubs charge a higher admission charge.
More drunkin people in line in Korea.
Order food at a club? You must be talking about a booking club.
Less problems walkin in and out of a club as you please in Korea.
Washrooms have fewer toilets and are a bit more nasty in Korea. (ie, puke)
It is rarer to find a man and woman having sex in the bathroom in Korea. Yes, it still happens.
Fewer people kissing in Korea.

That's just off the top of my head I'll try and think of a bit more things to add to the list. I'm sure there are many.

Good question by the way.

When you are talking about a nightclub, there are two different kinds of them in Korea. The first answerer seems to be refering to the clubs in Itaewon and Hongdae, all the westernized dumps. I sometimes went out with my businessmen students to KOREAN nightclubs in Gangnam and Apkujeong. For the 4 of us it was usually 200,000 won ($200) USD just for the table and about 100 more for the drinks and food. They usually did "booking." Which is when the waiters try to bring the female guests over. It's like a "hook up" joint. Most of the nighclubs are in the basements of hotels. But most of the businessmen I was with including me were already married, so we were not interested in that. The nightclubs are open 7 days a week, usually until 5 or 6am. Most Koreans are able to drink alot of alchohol and somehow make it to work on a Tuesday or Wednesday. That's a huge difference between the west and Korea. I never witnessed a fight between any Koreans in their nightclubs. But I noticed a bunch of them, almost daily in Itaewon and Hongdae. All these foreigners that think they are hardcore, mostly young soldiers. The women that go there, yes they show some skin, mostly for attention. None of them are usually interested in foreigners lol. The females in the Korean nightclubs are always dressed nicely, and never slutty. Same with the men.
