How do you get rid of the smell of kimchi from your fridge?

I heard the best solution is to put it in a separate fridge but I don't have one. Is it necessary to keep it in a fridge at all? It really permeates everything else in there so what do you do?

Mme Choc - It is a spicy fermented cabbage with a pungent aroma frequently eaten in Korea.

Clean your fridge with bleach or all purpose anti bacterial cleaner. After that, put Oak Charcoal in the fridge. If you live in Korea, you can get this charcoal easily.

Lemon juice in hot water . wipe it down then leave a bowl inside.

Open up a couple of boxes of baking soda to absorb the odor.

get rid of the smell but rubbing vanilla essance over your frigde store that food in a air tight container or a seperate fridge

I'm curious what's kimchi? Is it a cheese?

thanks for explaining, I might try it, sounds interesting!

Lemon juice in hot water and gibe it a good hard scrub

My wife uses old, wet green tea leaves to absorb smells.

There is one and only one way to stop kimchi from stinking up every thing it gets near.

NEVER allow it into the house - you wouldn't allow any other kind of toxic waste in your house, would you?

I did hear that was the reason SARS never got to Korea- kimchi killed it.

Take everything out and clean it with BLEACH.

Always leave a bunch of parsley in your fridge to get rid of all the bad smell.

Keep it in a sealed container.

I have no idea what kimchi is, but I say get baking soda!! :)

Baking soda will absorb the smell. Also try putting small piece of charcoal, it also absorbs stinky smell (even that of slcied onions)

I,m tempted to say f*** in the fridge, but then I would never be that coarse.
