Flying my boyfriend home from South Korea?

My boyfriend is trying to come home on leave from south korea and were having a hard time finding the right flights, any suggestions on any websites, he's gotta fly outta inchon, south korea into ohio.....anything at all will be helpful

The cheapest airfare currently is Northwest. Just have him go to a Korean travel agents office. If he cannot speak Korean, tell him to go to Itaewon. On the 5th floor of the building which houses the KEB bank there is a travel agency that does not screw foreign people.

Depending on where you are in Ohio, you might be better off having him fly directly into Detroit (DTW) and meeting him there if you're not too far.

Check Air Alliance on post because they have military discounts... but often the Asiana or Korean Air office right out the gate has competitive prices and since their business is not guaranteed (unlike all on-post shops) they are actually polite to the customer (again, unlike all on-post shops). I generally go through Top Travel because they are also very customer oriented and not tied to a single airline.

The military does not pay for ordinary leave from Korea. There are provisions to pay for emergency leave under the right circumstances, but not always. If he is going on leave between PCS the government will pay up to the amount they would spend to get him to his next duty and he covers the difference.
Also, Air Alliance (provider of tickets to the GTO) searches for tickets using government standards (only certain airports, must be refundable, etc) so the prices can be more... but then the military discount kicks in and it brings back to competitive. All in all, I steer away from Air Alliance unless I am on orders. They are too difficult to deal with.

Your boy friend should go to his local MWR, this is a place that is on almost evry post that can make all the arrangements for him. It is like having an American flight agent in Korea. Here is a link to thier site

Each base has a travel office for unofficial travel. Northwest would be the best but look at United as well (thru Chicago).
