Can KOREA invade the PHILIPPINES?

Can it be if Korean Entertainment Companies officially export their proudly-made products in the Philippines?

Korean Entertainment Companies are focusing on North Asia and South East Asia markets. Moreover, recently few movies have been awarded in few categories at internationally recognized film festival such as Cannes and some movies like The Host or Old Boy have been watched even in U.S or Europe with good reviews. However, China and Japan still remain as their top markets followed by Singapore and Malaysia. Then, the next would be Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam... You might think that this is some kind of cultural invasion but it is not. In my opinion, it is just normal phenomenon of one superior pop culture dominating another pop culture. The superior pop culture would enter a specific market with inferior domestic pop culture with less resistance. Usually, this superior pop culture seems to be more creative, more entertaining, more trendy and it comes from a country which has relatively strong economic and diplomatical power. You can easilty think of American and European POP culture dominating the global markets as an example.

I am sure that there are filipinos who would like to make money by importing KPOP products by approaching Korean Entertainment Companies first. In most Asian countries, there was this proactive approach first as with demand increased before legal supply could be there as people started watching priated versions of Korean movies and serials. Thus, this process can't be considered as invasion but invitation.

Nothing wrong if both country maintain equal trade balance !!!

Sure they can. They got away with it in the U S,The Philippines should be a piece of cake for them.

Korea has NOT invaded the US. Most people still ask me if I am living in North Korea or South Korea and which one is the bad one. Americans know nothing about Korea or its culture.

As far as the Phils goes, Korea could.. but many Filipinos leave their country to get jobs and send money home. This indicates that the country does not have much money, much less disposable income.
So it begs the question, Why would Korean Entertainment companies want to waste capitol on marketing in the Philippines when Malaysia and Singapore are nearby?
It would be like China ignoring the US and Canada in order to spend marketing dollars in Mexico. It does not make economic sense.
