Can any korean help me make a korean cyworld? I really want to be able to talk to my friend and she has a korean cyworld and thats the only way i can talk to her. Can any one help me? I no you need a number for one and i just want to know if anyone would be kind enough to let me borrow it or if you could make on for me. Thnx!

I dont have a pasport either.

Hi there,

It is very easy to make a Korean Cyworld page, and you do not need to be a citizen or have special numbers to do it. You will need to submit copies (email or fax) of an ID (Drivers license, student card, passport, etc). Any of those should be fine. There is a section on the K. Cyworld registration that non-residents (ie: foreigners) can use....and you do not need a passport to join.

The easiest way is to follow the site below, and go through the steps as outlined on there. It is the best way, because you will do it on your own, without having to borrow ID numbers, etc. You will impress your Korean friends a lot more this way too.

It may take up to a week to get fully registered/confirmed. Sometimes you will have to email them a couple of times, or resend your ID's....but generally it is very easy.

Once you are registered/confirmed, you are free to create your Mini-homepage, etc, and use the various features of the site.

Anyway, use that site, it is helpful ~ and good luck.

As you already know you need an ID number to make one. However you also have to fax your passport or Korean ID card proving you are a resident of Korea.

if you don't have a passport or id number in korea, you can't make a korean cyworld. i think they do this because they want to to make sure that 10 year olds don't make accounts on sites that you have to be 14 for.

You can always get an account in the us one and keep in touch with your friend.

i had this exact same problem. unfortunately you can't just "make" a number and you can't borrow a numer because its like really important for example its kind of like your social security number?? idk. But its just something you don't share lol. You have to like register in korea and do all kinds of things to get a number, so thats kinda impossible. You can send a passport, but you said you didn't have one. What I did was, my mom has one of those number things and i used hers to make an account. So if you have a family member that is a korean citizen?? or ask your korean friend if she could make one for you, if one of her family or friends could let you use theirs.
Goodluck~
o btw. and if nothing comes, y don't u ask her to make something like msn, buddybuddy, or aim?? that'd be easier.

Korean ID number is like Social Security Number. With the number, anyone can create any sort of funny accounts or can be involved in fraud etc. I would not give mine to anyone.

Just now I checked the website's instruction of creating an account for non-Koreans. It says that you need to submit a photocoy of ID. It does NOT say that it has to be your passport, so you don't have to worry about you not having a passport.

Firstly, try it with your driver's license, student ID or any form of ID. Once you submit your online application at http://www.cyworld.com/common/main.asp, you should send a photocoy of your ID either via fax. Or email the scanned copy to the address shown below.

If you really can't create one, ask your friend to give you her login and password. Then, you can log in as her and leave whatever message you want to leave. Your friend can log in later and check what you said. What are friends for?

Edit - It says that you should write your email address that was used for creating a cyworld account on the fax as well as the date that your application was submitted. When you are emailing it, you might want to put that information in your email as well. Don't forget to attach the scanned ID.

you can't borrow someone's ID number.

because it has already been registered.

if you are a foreigner, you need a passport.

better have one if you want to have K-cyworld.

there is no way of having one without a passport.

just ask here to have a chat with you through email or msn messenger.
