I had to do a visa run in Japan but when I tried to go back to S. Korea I was stopped.?

Has anyone else had this problem? I over stayed my tourist visa. I had to return to the states. I left all of my stuff in Korea. I plan on going back but I will get an E2 work visa to teach ESL the next time. Are there any other pitfalls I should watch out for? What will my fine be if I try to return?

The E-2 regulations changed December 15, 2007. You now need to get a health certificate and a criminal background check. You also need to have an interview with a member of the Korean consulate in your home country.
When you overstay your visa, there is a daily fine but I'm not sure how much. Unfortunately, you will also be reminded about overstaying your visa every time you enter and exit Korea in the future.
There are lots of teaching jobs in Korea, so take your time in selecting where you want to teach with a reputable school.
These are good web sites for finding teaching jobs:
