What is Korean culture and moral values like?

my mom wants me to get married by 25 after I finish all my school
I was thinking to only date Chinese and Japanese men because I know of these cultures well but Koreans are very pretty I wonder about them
are they strict parents?
do they mix with other races or prefer their own race and culture?
are they usually religious and if so, what religon?
Is education fundamental to them? For example, with the Chinese family I grew up with, we are only allowed straight A's.

Beauty really depends on a person's preference but Koreans are taller and bigger than any other nations in Asia. But I'm guessing that your preference is Korean men.

are they strict parents?
Korean parents are not really strict anymore. You are 25 so there could be some old school parents but generally Korea is one of the most westernized nation in Asia so parents have become more relaxed than they used to be.

do they mix with other races or prefer their own race and culture?
Sadly many still prefer their own race and culture in continental Korea but if you find a Korean outside of the peninsula their parents would be a lot more loose and allow interracial relationships.

are they usually religious and if so, what religon?
A lot of Koreans are Christians and Buddhists but the younger generations really don't have religion.

Is education fundamental to them?
Education is very important to Koreans. They emphasize more on Education than Anything else.

Well, Korean mom's would be usually kind to guests to their homes... you know the typical, take off your shoes before entering the house. Korean parents are basically expect their children only A's. Religion in Korea would be a Catholic, Christian faith. Maybe even a Buddhist.

My girlfriend is Korean, her family and friends are the nicest people in the world, they welcomed into their homes and heart without question I love Koreans and Korea. I have ben to japan and china, I have had a chinese girlfriend and shared a hous with all three cultures and in general koreans are more fun easier to get on with and fiendlier.

AS for region 26 percent are Buddist, 25 percent are christian and 51 percent are non beleivers. Koreans have very strong famliy and motral code based on being a conservative culture but they are lovely people..

Could i suggest you fall in love with a person based on your heart not their culture and the rest will sought itself out with a bit of luck and hard word.

good luck
Oliie

I've lived in Hong Kong and Japan for five years and my in laws are Korean so I know a little bit about all cultures. When my husband saw this question he said 'no money, no girlfriend', so I think Korean men like to concentrate on their studies and completing their compulsory military service first by which time they are in their late twenties.
My husband is a Christian and goes to church every week, but he has brothers who are Buddhist and Mormon so they don't always follow the same religion in the family.
Also, I'm white and I've never encountered any negative prejudices as far as our interracial marriage is concerned.

I've been married to a Korean woman for the past 4 years. Educationally they are very strict. You'll see middle and high school students getting home from their public and private education schools around 12 or 1 am. 90% of all Koreans these days go to university and get at least a Bachleors. At first it's a bit hard to get accepted by their parents. You have to prove yourself responsible, and able to take care of your spouse. Korea has an extremely strong realization of family values. Friends are also considered family. In the Korean language we call that "jeong." If you live in Korea and you are a foreigner married to a Korean, people will check you both out and wonder how you met and whatnot. There are sometimes negative comments made depending on where you both live in Korea. Strangely in the countrysinide people are very interested in a positive way about foreign people and foreign people that are married to Koreans. Unfourtunately I believe many people in Seoul are having a negative feeling about foreigners and Korean getting married. The divorce rate among foreigners and Koreans in Korea is 82%. Anyways i was successful and I am incredibly happy I chose to marry an intelligent responsible Korean person. The average age Koreans get married in Korea is 29 for women and 31 for men. This is exact, at least thats what the Korea Herald newspaper said.
