I will be moving to daegu in a few weeks and I was wondering about the nightlife and shopping.?

I would like to know if there are any clubs that play reggae/dancehall music. I saw a few postings on some sites that indicated hip-hop, but nothing on reggae. I'm also a big sneaker freak and since I have limited space in my two suitcases, I've decided to leave basically all my sneakers at home in hopes of finding some exclusive colors and designs when I get there. I don't want knock-offs, but I don't want to break the bank either. Are there spots where I can get some really good deals ( I estimate that with my shoe buying habits, I'll probably buy like 1 pair every week or two)?

I have been to Daegu few times and I remember they had nice shopping areas but could not remember the name of the street. So, I searched naver.com and found that it is called "Dong Sung Ro". As it is a popular shopping area, they call the place "Dong Sung Ro, Rodeo Street". Dong Sung Ro is just near Daebaek which is Daegu Department Store. If you stand in front of the department store where the fountain is, you will see burger king, mc donald's and Hanmi Yakguk (pharmacy). Go to the yakguk and you won't miss shops around there. Try to walk through all the alleis.

I could not find any information on reggae/dancehall music club. You might want to check with the local folks living in Daegu but I found that there is a live Jazz bar called "Club THAT" which seems to be popular (among expats as well). Also, there are many clubs where you can dance with young drunk Koreans. Many are also located at Rodeo Street.

yes. the clubs there play a lot of AZN music. the shoes are also pretty cheap but just beware the styles of most of them are towards the AZN side. i dont know if thats what you want, but after seeing karate kid, i guess its worth a shot.
