Korea users - need info on your country?

G鈥檇ay, I want to learn more about your country . . . .! 鈥?br>
Out of your little 鈥榗orner of the world鈥?what are the 5 BEST things about living there?

Also name 3 things you don鈥檛 like about it, or would want to change.

Thanks Mate

Five Best Things!

1. Safe big cities: Both Seoul and Busan are extremely safe compared with other big cities in the world. (e.g. New York, Rome, Paris, Toronto, London or Sydney) When I was in the States, I had to know which areas to stay away from and in some places I didn't feel safe even in the daytime. However, theft and muggling rarely happen in Korea's big cities. It's not surprising to see a young woman walking down the street alone after midnight in Seoul.

2. Changing weather: Some users already complained that Korea is too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer but I beg to differ because I like changing weathers. I can enjoy water sports in the summer and go snowboarding or skiing in the winter. Also, the weather is fabulous in the spring and the fall though they are getting shorter.
I didn't like the weather of Singapore because it's always hot and it was sooooo boring. (No snow in the winter?? duh~ )

3. Night life: Most stores and shops are open until very late at night. Plus, it's really crazy to drink all night
Seoul never sleeps =D

4. Great Public Transportation System: nice, clean, convenient, easy and cheap!!

5. Amazing food: You'll love it!

Three things I don't like

1. Air pollution in the big cities
2. Insane, aggresive drivers (Asian equivalent of Italians!)
3. Too many smokers and their spitting habits

Can only think of one good reason for living in Korea......Beautiful Asian Women...Probably the best in Asia....

Three things I do not like about living in Korea.
(1) Their food.....It is horrible
(2) Koreans are extremely money hungry
(3) Weather is from bad to horrible - Very hot in the summer and extremely cold in the winter.
(4) Soju - The korean version of moonshine. Damn stuff is like drinking gasoline.
(5) Very discourteous drivers.

The single reason for liking Korea overrides all the negatives. Been here for nine years.

In response to your question.

1. How almost everything is "awake" 24/7
2. Cheaper stuff than in US
3. Great food
4. Great sightseeing places too
5. Friendly people

Things I don't like..
1. Weather. Hot and humid during summer, very cold in winter
2. Traffic
3. Roads can become confusing

And the the guy who answered before me..

Three things I do not like about living in Korea.
(1) Their food.....It is horrible
-Your opinion, so whatever
(2) Koreans are extremely money hungry
-I disagree. Why would you say that?
(3) Weather is from bad to horrible - Very hot in the summer and extremely cold in the winter.
-Yep.
(4) Soju - The korean version of moonshine. Damn stuff is like drinking gasoline.
-Great with meat/seafood
(5) Very discourteous drivers.
-It seems like that because you probably weren't used to driving like that

Hmm. Im korean. and I recently visited Korea on the summer of 2007. I live in America, so when I went..I was pretty amazed to see how much it changed!
1)NICE AND CLEAN Transportation!
2) GREAT FOOD!
3) A lot of places to hang out, have fun, at a cheap price.
4) Nice people!
5) Just fun to visit anytime. They have a lot of events going on everyday for daily people to watch and enjoy.
...
3 things I'll want to change if I could.
1) shorter school days.
2) make the roads bigger
3) More ice cream shops. PLEASE!

Things I like

1. Family values. "refered to as Jeong"
2. Mandatory military service for all men between the ages of 20 and 24.
3. Hardly any violent crime. (serial murders, bank robberies)
4. No drugs, no guns. If you are caught with a drug you'll get a minimum of 3 years in prison, regardless if you are a citizen or a foreigner.
5. Surrounded by the seas...going to the beach for a weekend.

Things I hate

1. The westernization that is occuring.
2. If a foreigner and a Korean fight, usually the foreigner is held accountable.
3. The immigration policies that Korea has for foreigners is still not up to par.
