Are unmarried couples allowed to rent lodging in Korea? |
I will be visiting (South) Korea soon and will be traveling outside of Seoul part of the time. My question is that do the smaller houses sort of like bed and breakfasts rent rooms to unmarried couples? Even if they are foreign visitors? Well, my boyfriend is from Korea but I am most definitely American and that is why we are visiting but we would much rather just rent one room rather than pay for two. Thanks. Ok, so some people seem to either be blowing off my question or perhaps think I am ignorant. I fully understand what kind of country South Korea is, that it is a fully industrialized modern country. However, I am not talking simply about Seoul and impersonal hotels but the smaller villages and private houses. I am from the South in the US and there are still places in the smaller towns that might give you strange looks or even turn you away for not being married. It is just a more conservative culture than what the bigger cities are. Therefore I think my question is justified and I would prefer more serious and not flippant answers among people. Thank you! yes not sure. Yes, Koreans will gladly take your money. Doesn't your boyfriend know the answer? I think you should be OK. My (Korean) husband's company paid our rent even before we got married. According to my husband, supposedly it's not allowed. Or is that why he persuaded me to marry him. lolololol x absolutely. it's not an islamic country..people don't care |
