How is the korean's system of education?

a) I mean... how many levels/yrs in pre-school, grde school, middle school, high school and university... (and age during those levels)...

b) and when does the SCHOOLYEAR start and end... when are the vacations and graduation... (please include months, etc.)

a)
pre-school / kindergarten = usually 2 years (age 4 to 5) but they vary!!
grade school / elementary school = 6 years (age 6 to 11)
middle school / junior high = 3 years (age 12 to 14)
high school / senior high = 3 years (age 15 to 17)
university / college = usually 4 years (age 18+)
There are some two year-colleges called 鞝勲雽€(sort of vocational schools or communitiy colleges).
Also, some professional schools (med-school, architecture schools) require more than 4 years of education.

b) School year begins in Spring, March 2nd(March 1st is a national holiday) or the closest monday to March 1st.
In colleges and universities, summer vacation begins in the mid or late June (around June 20th).
In elementary to high schools, summer vacation begins in the late July (around July 20th).
The second semester begins in Fall, September 1st or the closest Monday to September 1st.
In colleges and university, winter vacation begins in the mid December.
In elementary to high schools, winter vacation begins in the late December.

Graduation ceremony is held in the mid February or late February.
I personally think having a graduation in the winter time is more romantic and fabulous.

the education of system on korea is not very high. It's computering. for example if u learn history u can travel virtually to those time and learn better. but i think the students really wants to learn .

they have elementary for 6 years.
middle school for 3 years
and then high school for 3 years, too..

you usually finish high school when you are already 20 or 21.

the university takes 4 years while colleges take 2 years. colleges are not similar to universities in korea. colleges are like technical schools in korea.

for korean men, they have to stop studying in the university for 2 years to have their compulsory military service training so it will take longer for men to finish university.

the competition is really strong in korea. if you dont study, your out...

when they graduate high school, they are about 17~18 years old.(aging system is different in Korea)

Summer vacation approximately starts in 3rd week of July and ends about 2nd week of August. about a month
Winter vacation starts in 2nd or 3rd week of December and ends on March 2nd which is the day of new school year
They do graduation ceremony in Feb someday

System of Education:
Pre-school- 3 years -- actually, 2 years is enough
Grade school- 6 years
Middle school - 3 years
High school - 3 years
College - 4- 6 years (depending on the course)

School year starts by August
Winter Vacation: December-Feb
Summer Vacation: June-July
