Moving to Korea...my husband is stationed in Korea on an unaccompanied tour. I want to move to Korea too...?

and be there for this rest of his tour (10months). I need more information to get a game plan together to see if this is possible or even a good idea. I know we can't live together, but we could see each other on the weekends and it's better than being 20+ hours away. We don't have any children, so that would not be an issue. I have a degree and was interested in maybe teaching english over there, but it seems like most jobs require a 1 year contract, which I can't do. I'm going to visit him next month, and i'm hoping to look at apartments or find a job. But I know I can't work or live there without the proper visa. I just am not sure of the legal issues or where to start; if anyone has any information, or has done this before, your input would be appreciated.

Visitors visa is good for 30 days.

You could get short term work, and apply for work visa when you get here.

Or teach illegally, (no visa) as thousands do here, but expect a 1000 $ fine, if caught.

Come here and give it a shot.

i don't . but i do know that the American red cross will assit you as much as they can to guied you. i have done volunteer with them and this is a great place for you to start. good luck . have a blessed visit with your man and god bless you both. ask for a job with the red cross.

As far as I know, you can first stay without visa for 3months, then you can extend same period of time twice. Total would be 9months. I can say this is 100%correct since I heard it from someone I dont know.
so you need exact information. But one thing for sure, it is more than easier for American to get a teaching job I mean illegally but safe. You have to have some Korean friends first so that they can be good connection between you and students.
