I need to send something to South Korea can the address be written in english and also will i need stamps? |
I am sending a packet and i don't know korean. The recipient i know in Korea speaks english. I need to send this ASAP! Is it possible to write the address in english and have it still sent to the proper address in south korea? I live in Canada by the way if the canadian way is similar to the u.s. way, then yes, you have to write the address in english, though it might get there faster if you can write it in korean as well. but english only should still get there ok, especially if you have a zip/postal code in the address. some people don't know their postal code there, so it isn't always necessary, but if it's going somewhere that might have a similar spelling to another place, the postal code could be useful. it gets confusing because there can be more than one way to spell the names of towns and areas, which might overlap with the spelling of another town or area. if you were in the u.s. and sending it from the post office, you wouldn't need stamps, just pay the postage at the counter. if you used stamps anyway, if it were over a certain weight you'd still have to take it to the post office or have it picked up or something so they could identify the sender. you'll need to fill out a customs form. Put the address in English and you will need stamps. Take the package to your post office and they will tell you what to do and the cost for shipping the package. Write the address in bold English letters. May sure you have the complete address. And it will be expensive. if the place your sending to is in Korea, then the address should be in Korean. I've done both--depends on my mood. And they always get there. But if your Romanization is sketchy...would be better if your friend sent it to you and you could print it out and tape it on there. Unless they live or work in a very public or government location, or a military base. |
