Do South koreans celebrate new year on Jan.1?

Do South koreans celebrate new year on Jan.1?

Yes, they do the countdown (as in special concerts etc.)

Yes we do celebrate new year's day on January 1st and it's a national holiday.

Traditionally, Lunar New Year's day (better known as Chinese New Year) is a bigger holiday though.

My family, somehow, celebrate January 1st as a new year's day and go traveling on lunar new year holidays.

Yes, but it's not as big as the Lunar New Year celebration (Feb 6-8 in 2008).

of course they do.

Yes. It's a national holiday.
