How much / what percentage of the cost does Korea pay to keep the American army in Korea? |
Many Koreans tell me that they pay for everything to keep the US soldiers in their country, but I think that the Americans must be paying for the cost of equipment, salaries, rent etc... S. Korea pays approx 40% of total operating cost. Japan pays approx 55% of the US cost. Currently the US is negotiating to increase the share that SKorea should pay. Korea , in the past , could not pay for what it cost the US Military to be there for one day . I doubt it is paying anything . It may well be that the US is paying them , as they certainly do in Germany Not as much as they should. |
