Bungee Jumping In Korea? |
Is there an authentic bungee jumping site in South Korea? If so, where? I've heard of the one in at Gyo-ri, Cheongpung-myeon, Jechon-si, Chungcheongbuk-do. Any others? And any opinions on quality of the place? not sure what you mean by authentic. but if towers & safety gear qualify, then yeah, there are at least a few sites. the one my friends and i tried was near Nami-seom (Nami Island), which i would recommend highly, because you're doing it over a lake, which is fun, and there's other fun stuff to do right next to it. we went to Nami island afterwards (take a ferry across) and that's a place where they filmed one of those Korean dramas (winter sonata? autumn sonata? not sure) so lots of people flock there. you can rent bikes and ride around the island (very small!) and do other touristy (but fun) stuff. the bungee jump there is with a sit-in kind of harness, from your back, not the ankle-type. i think they said it was the tallest one in korea (maybe that was at the time, or maybe just another claim). i can't remember what the name of that area is, other than the island's name. it might even be the one the previous poster mentioned. I think the exit from Kyungbu expressway is Pangyo. Coming from the South it is the exit right after the toll gate. From the North, if you hit the toll gate you went too far. I have tried twice back in 2002 to 2003. Have you heard of KangChon? It is one of the famous place for MT of university students. It was quite cheap like 10,000won each in bulk. But I don't know how much they get paid thesedays. This area is great atmosphere for leisure activities. People ride bycircle along the river and couple of riding machines. Most of things are made for twenties and most people are that young. mountain arounded surrounding is one of the things that attracts people. but for bunge jumping, the spot was not excelent..it was conveniened to get to but located in middle of street. |
