New Years Eve in Seoul?????

Looking for somthing fun to do on New Years Eve in Seoul? Any sugguestions. It will just be me and a friend, and need sothing that can be done on short notice as most places are already booked up. Thanks!

Try some clubs in Hongdae or gaybars in Itaewon.
You don't need to book in advance in most places there and those places are generally more foreigner-friendly.

I personally like Queens and SOHO in Itaewon and there are many straight white women hanging around even though they are gaybars.

just join the big party in downtown at the east gate or palace front!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if being squished by throngs of ppl is ok by you, then the Bell Tower in Jongno (Jonggak station, dark blue line (line #1)) needs no reservation and unlike what i hear about Times Square in NYC, it can be as last-minute as you want (though the mob might slow you down quite a bit). i last did it 4 years ago, so not 100% positive that it's still on, but it seemed like a well-established tradition by then, so it's still likely to be an annual thing. they ring the bell at midnight, and everyone's jostling and dancing and setting off their own fireworks (sold on the street there) and being happy. if you go, accept the possibility that your clothes might get holes burned in them. i think they also do the big fireworks display, too. The subway station is named after the bell tower, so the bell tower is right above it. it's that intersection with the weird, rounded, 3-sided samsung building (millineum tower? jongno tower? eye-of-saramon?).
