How long does it take to recieve mail from us to south korea?

package is sent from colorado to an apo in south korea and it weighs around 5 llbs

Standard Airmail: 8 to 10 days
Express Airmail: 3 to 4 days
By ship-mail: 6 to 8 weeks

It can take a little bit longer during the holiday seasons.

If you sent it through USPS Priority Mail, about a week. If you didn't send it priority, it can take much longer. I've heard people getting packages 6 weeks after it was sent.

This is a very loaded question.

Your mail will go from CO to San Francisco in a day. From there it will board either a plane or a boat and head to Korea.

Once it hits the military postal system you can never tell. I have had so many things misrouted it is ridiculous. I once got a letter ten months late from a girl I had broke up with six months earlier.

Bottom line, always send letters first class, always send boxes priority. Anything faster is a waste of money. Priority letters do not hit your Soldier any faster.
If you send it slower, like parcel post, it will take forever. That is basically a space available rate. There is usually not much space available.

But, the straight answer... letters normally get here within a week. Packages within two weeks.

On the customs slips be as vague as possible. Do not write "Transformers Movie" write "DVD". This helps against theft. And, unless you are going to insure it, try to write the word used on there.

As I recall being TAD to the DMZ at lovely "4papaone" back in the winter of '89 with a great bunch of highly trained Marines; receiving mail or otherwise from 1st RadBn in KBay took approx. 2-4weeks. I must say during the Christmas Season it was seemingly quicker.

My dad always sends our packages standard USPS and the longest a package has ever taken was 2 and a half weeks.

Most packages make it within about 10 days.

We've always had great service... packages arrive quickly, in one piece and we've never had one lost.
