Planning this weekend there....

Which hotel/resort is right next to the beach?
(I mean ... if I take a ground floor room and walk out right into the beach whenever I want. )

MANDARMONI is a beach resort in Purba Medinipur district of South Bengal, one of the southern districts of West Bengal. It is almost 180km from Kolkata Airport on the Kolkata-Digha route and just 14km from Chaulkhola .

Mandarmani is best reached by road. The nearest train station is at Contai and the nearest airport is at Kolkata.
The road route from Kolkata is: Esplanade - 63km - Kolaghat - 3km - Mecheda - 80km - Contai - 12.3km - Chawalkhola - 4km - Kalindi - 4km - Dadan Patra Bar - 6km -Mandarmoni -Total 163km

Our demand is limited. Only view of the Sea, from room. We are an elderly couple and will neither bath in the sea, nor consume alcohol or indulge sex. All we want is quietness and view of the sea.

These days people in WBengal/Calcutta are seeing posters from Rose Valley asking to visit Mandarmoni sea beach....but they do not mention where it is ...!!
Not a funny thing ...? As this beach is some-a-new to most of the people ...who generally know about Digha, Bok-khali and Sankarpur in Midnapore.

It is also in Midnapore ( Midnapore was all in limelight for a wrong reason of "Nandigram"). Postings above me has rightly guided you how to reach and given other informations.
