Could kolkata become an international city?

At least 50 more years if everything goes at present pace.

What is the definition of an international city ?
Kolkata is already a known city in India and also internationally, in as much as other cities in India are known.
Kolkata ( Calcutta) was once the capital of British India.
But you can't expect Kolkata to become the capital
of India to-day. Yours is an off-beat idea.

It would become an INTERNATIONAL city after 5 years.I think SO........

I think it is an international city already, even some amenities are missing yet, but they will appear within next 2-3 years, you will see. We have more than 14 millions of citizens, embassies of foreign countries, 5 star hotels, brunches of multinational corporations (IBM, Siemens, etc), international airport with many flights to various destinations all over the world. This is more than enough to call the city "international"
