When is the best time of the year to visit Kenya? |
When is the best time of the year to visit Kenya? it depends on why you want to visit. If it is for tour and safaris, late august and Sept are the best. the weather is dry and you can visit the Masai Mara and watch the migration of the wilder beast. This has been listed as one of the wonders of the modern world. If you like the mountains, August is still the best. Hike to mount Kenya (the only mountain on the equator line that is ice-capped). On a clear day, you can spot the peaks of Mt. Kilimanjaro from the Top of Mt. Kenya...over 350KM away.. and this is the only place in the world one can attain such a long sight without visual aids. For the Kenyan coast, the water is warm all year around. I went in September, and it was great You can come to Kenya at any time of the year, it's great all-year-round. Though It's better from May-October. that way you get to see the 'wildbeast migration' at the Mara (in July). August and September are a bit hectic for tourist since hotels are usually fully booked and tour companies' charges are higher. But you can book early. Try the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife web for more info': I also went in September this year. It was absolutely amazing. I would say the best experience of my life. I went to Nyali for two weeks and I went on safari in Tsavo East and West for a few days and saw the big 5 along with so many other amazing animals. After the lions have been fed ! |
