Job come up in Nairobi. Should I go? What do I need to know about the place? |
Am a development worker and there is a possibility of a job in Nairobi for a year. What do I need to know about the place? Has anyone lived there? What is it like? Lived in Northern Tanzania so know the area but never been to Kenya. All info appreciated! Cheers! umm Nairobi is vibrant we also have the same form of transport as in Tanzania,i think the people are helpful.it can get a bit hot sometimes so be prepared for temperatures sometimes going up to 30 degrees celsius. there are plenty of interesting places to visit and lots to do if u got the time but seeing as how ur coming for a job so maybe you will only have time during weekends all in all its a good place. Go! It sounds like a great opportunity! ofcourse u should go! this is a great opportunity for you to see and live in kenya. its beautiful. i'm kenyan and i can tell you that u'll have a great time. weather's good all year round, and people are really friendly....go experience it! much much beter than shinyanga mosoma or mwanza. Everyone`s experiences are different. One person may tell you it`s a terrible place - don`t go, while another will say oh god yes go for it it`s fab ! That`s why you have to go and experience it for yourself. You really do. So don`t waste any more time, get that suitcase out................ It is quite a nice little city but very dangerous. You may be used to that from your Tanzania experience. Women cannot go about alone, at least tourists can't anyway, day or night. I remember being amazed by walking through the park there and the people used a tiny stream in it to wash themselves and their clothes. It was in front of everyone. I don't know much else only that the people are very nice but they really are good at ripping off tourists. Means of survival I suppose. Sorry I can't help more. |
