a According to cia.gov, estimates for this country explicitly take into account the effects of mortality due to AIDS; this can result in lower life expectancy, higher infant mortality and death rates, lower population and growth rates, and changes in the distribution of population by age and sex than would otherwise be expected.

Kenya is married.

Kenya is a beautiful country. It was a British colony and of course it is independent now. I attended a INTERPOL meeting some years back in Narobi the capitol of Kenya ..The city and people are very nice. I also had occasion to fly to the beautiful sea port of Mombasa. It has
several modern beach hotels and the beach goes on forever. It is the best kept secret for German and British tourist.

Well since im from there i should know a lot. But i do know that Kenya is a very beautiful place. Also that its always mis judged because people are always believing what they see on t.v. lol but yea

It is a beautiful country with some stark contrasts. Unbelievable poverty exists adjacent to upscale modernity. Terrain and climate varies greatly depending on elevation. Nairobi is actually as high or higher elevation than Denver. The temp & humidity there is relatively lower than in the coastal and lowlands areas, where they can be high enough to change your entire notion of what is hot & humid. Near Mombasa many days it is hot and humid enough that you never feel totally "dry". The sunlight and U.V. light is very strong and causes some "harsh" lighting in the full daylight. A brimmed hat and sunscreen are musts for light skinned people. Good sunglasses are necessary as well. There is very little potable water available, aside from bottled water. Plan ahead and have plenty available. Avoid taking photographs of people without permission, especially of muslims. Many will be ok with it, but some are not. Caution, avoid driving! Hire a vehicle and driver if you do not have someone taking care of that for you. Traffic, especially in Nairobi and Mombasa, can be a madhouse. Pay close attention to traffic as a pedestrian. Don't forget as you step into the street to cross, near traffic is passing from right to left! Easy to step out in front of a vehicle if you're not used to that. People are like anywhere, mostly good and friendly but a few are very bad. Know where you are, where you are going, and move purposefully. The bad folks are looking for people to take advantage of. Plan ahead how you will deal with beggars. There are many, some professional, some just very needy people. It is good to be prepared for this.
Petty crime is very common. Be mindful of security.
If you have someone you know on the ground there who knows the turf and the language, your trip will be much smoother and more relaxing. They can also help you with what prices to pay for things. No kidding, pricing will sometimes start at ten times what it should be. Avoid having to deal with the police if at all possible. If your camera or stuff is stolen, you are better to chalk it up to experience and get back to enjoying your trip. You are unlikely to get your stuff back by going to the police and you are for sure going to waste some serious time.
My opinion, avoid eating the salads and fresh things that can be contaminated, even in the very nice tourist resorts. Stick to things that have been well cooked and avoid even the ice in most places. Nothing ruins a nice trip like...anyway, you get it.
That said, there is beauty in the most humble of places. The poorest place will have beautiful flowering trees.
Go to the Carnivore restaurant in Nairobi if you can!
If in Mombasa, take a dinner cruise on the Tamarind Dhow if you can!
Don't overlook Nairobi National Park as a place to view game animals. I spent my first day in Africa tooling around all day there and saw everything (even a rhino) but cheetah and leopards. We finally found a pride of lions resting after their a dinner of zebra. We were racing sunset as we were the last ones out of the park. Everything, absolutely everything seems like an adventure in Kenya.
Blessings

Since am from Kenya, born and brought up here ... ...I dont think there is anything that I dont know lol.The country of Kenya is 582,646 sq km .The eastern half of the country slopes gently downward towards sea level while to the west, the land patterns resemble a flight of stairs as a series of hills and plateaus alternate upward to the Rift Valley. On the western side of the Rift Valley the land again gently slopes downward towards Lake Victoria. Moving from east to west, a traveller experiences the white beaches of the Indian Ocean to the mile-high plateau of Nairobi, climbs higher still to the snow-capped summit of Mount Kenya, then drops across the Great Rift Valley to Lake Victoria. The Kenyan countryside boasts jagged, forested mountains, fertile red-soil agricultural belts surrounding Lake Turkana and sandy, dusty desert savannah regions.

Kenya has twenty mountains, six of which rise to over 3,000 meters (9,900 feet).

The Kenyan economy has increased in th past two years. Despite the many negative things potrayed by th media I still believe Kenya is a very beautiful country

a good tourist attraction
