What's the kenyan word for 'welcome'?

In fact - Jambo is the Kiswahili (or Swahili) word for welcome. There are 42 tribes in Kenya (44 if you include the white Europeans and the Indians) each with their own languages, however Swahili and English are the official main languages.

The common welcome greeting, certainly in holiday resorts, is jambo.

Is it "MUMBO"?

It is "KARIBU", but it depends on what context you will use it in.

For example,

You are welcome (say in a place) - Umekaribishwa

As a thank you acknoledgement: "Asante(sana)" means thank you(very much) then you answer You are welcome "Karibu"!
