Anyone knows what is good preparation for climbing Mt Kilimanjaro?

from what i've read in lonely planet most of the routes have soda machines and snack bars all the way to the top so if you can walk 5 miles without keeling over you should be okay. most people hire porters to carry their things so that isn't a worry. personally I'd rather hike mount kenya. last i heard you could do that without hiring a bunch of guides and guards etc.

Yeah, wear lots of warm clothes...lol

although Mt. Kilamanjaro is the tallest mountain in Tanzania, it is still not that tall. Most people in good shape do great on the climb. If you really want to prep up I know that running and squats always help me gear up for long hikes. Good luck
