Has anyone stayed in Bitacora Apartments in Peurto del Carmen in Lanzarote.?

Also, has anyone been to PDC. What is it like? What sort of entertainment is on in the evenings that would be suitable for children aged 7 and 10. Thanks.

I lived in PDC for 5 years...great place..Bitacora is a nice place..not flash but comfortable!

There's a great shopping centre in the Old Town, the kids will love it!

Loads of bars along the main strip which cater for kids and plenty of bars for adults too! babysitters are easy to find..just ask in reception.

I haven't stayed there but I had clients who went there every single year without fail for five maybe six years or more.
They absolutley loved it.

Its one of the better apartment complexes in PDC, pretty consistent I'd say, with many repeat bookings so it can't be bad :-)

The beach is just 500 metres away but if you're not in the mood to head out and just want a quick dip, the Bitacora Club actually has three on site swimming pools for their guests plus an added children's section in case you're travelling with kids. This is actually a good point compared to other apartment complexes that usually have just one on site pool. Just like the big hotels, one of Bitacora Club's three pools is actually being kept heated during the winter months too. However, like other apartment complexes, shade by the pool area is quite limited but there a lot of plastic furniture to go around in case you still want to hang out by the pool. For those who want peace and quiet, stay away from the poolside at times when there's some loud music playing. Refreshments and light snacks are being offered at the neatly kept poolside snack bar.

As for the apartments itself, they are actually nice and are tastefully decorated. As for in room facilities, the rooms at the Bitacora Club are well maintained and well equipped so as to ensure that you enjoy yourself during your stay and is always comfortable.

Located 350 metres from the Bitacora Club are the various shops, bars and restaurants in case you want to have a feel of the local culture of just want to hang out with other tourists. Couples and families might also want to check out the Bitacora Club especially because it is considered as a great holiday destination not just for couples but for families as well. The Bitacora Club certainly offers a whole lot and guarantees that everything you might need or want is just conveniently within your reach. All in all in spite of its isolated location, the Bitacora Club is a very attractive as well as peaceful apartment complex. It has very tidy interiors although the reception area's quite plain but there is the spacious casual buffet restaurant that a lot of guests find very pleasant.

One thing that you should be aware of is that the location is hilly, also due to a number of steps within the complex and hills in the surrounding area I would not recommend this complex to guests with mobility problems. The complex comprises of three blocks, one behind the main building and the third across the road; guests may be placed in any block

In my opinion, I always think that hotels are better suited for kids as there are usually lots of organised entertainments going on, where in SC apts, theres not a lot really.

Have you tried doing your holiday yourself?
Look at flights and accomodation seperately and you'll not pay any under-occupancy supplements.
www.medhotels.com is excellent and well priced!

All th best!
