Does anyone know if there is a smoking ban in Majorca?

I am going there on holiday in the spring, and was wondering what the rules on smoking in bars etc are.

Officially the answer is yes, a smoking ban was introduced in Mallorca in 2006.

The ruling for bars and restaurants is different though and the owner or landlord is allowed to choose whether it is smoke free. 99.9% of bars and restaurants you can smoke in.

not in france or spain.

The rules differ in different areas. The local mayor decides allot of the time.I was there not long ago and there was not problem in most bars.Hotels can be a different matter though!

no I dont sorry

Theres no smoking ban. Unlike here its a relatively normal place.

There probably will be. There seems to be fewer places where a guy can get a beer and smoke.

just come back you can smoke any place you like
even after s..x

There was last year when I was in Santa Ponsa but nobody bothers about it.

no but i find that more and more are stopping smoking in say the entertainment areas in spain hotels/apartments-maybe it will get like britain soon

smoking all the way!!!!!!!!!!1 and you can take back 3000 cigarettes

The law came into place in 2006 but only a certain number of restaurants and bars complied, well at least in the area I live in. The official law for nightclubs and bars was any bar over 100 sq metres must provide a smoking and non smoking area. Never happened, and never enforced. Any bar under 100 sq meter had the choice to have a smoking or non-smoking bar but children are not allowed in the bar. Never happened and never enforced. Most restaurant provide a smoking and non smoking area. Looking for any more info on bars, nightclubs and restaurants. Check out www.santaponsamaps.com or www.webmastersmallorca.com which provides excellent information for tourist. Use the links to great deals on flights, hotels and holidays in Santa Ponsa, Magaluf and PalmaNova.

If there is...They probably don't take it as seriously as we do.
