Cala D'or or Puerto Pollensa? |
Which would be the best area to stay in with a 6 month old and 3 year old. Really after charm, rather than lots of English Pubs and a nice beach with calm shallow waters. Puerto Pollensa is lovely we had our first holiday there with an 8th old and 3 year old it is gorgeous there I would recommend Puerto Pollensa...but even so its who youre with not where you are :) Hi I went to a place in majorca called c`an picafort and it is excellent for young children, I stayed in the son baulo hotel and it specially catered for babies Pollensa is nice but mainly for the upmarket retired type, along the coast in alcudia, The Bellvue complex is nice but 10 minutes walk to beach and lots of mosquito's, Las Gaviotas Apt is great for families, or can picaforts Son Baulo is great and on the beach. I prefer Santa Ponsa further down the coast. I work in travel and have 3 children under the age of 10. I would recommend Cala D'Or as it has several small bays, the land is fairly flat if you have a buggy or pram, and there are local hire companies which can provide you with buggy, cot etc to save you from taking things with you. some one above mentioned alcudia and I'd have to agree the sea there is so calm when my little girl had just turned one that's were we went she could sit by the water's edge it was so gentle the water never even splashed her face and it shallow for quite a distance so great for your three year old and there a little water park there to I've been to both cala D'or and puerto pollensa and i found it expensive were going to can picafort this time been before it nice there to very familyish have a great time were ever you go. pollensa is a bit isolated very quiet manly for us older people Peurto Pollensa is a lovely looking part of the island but not sure it will have enough to keep the kiddies entertained. Cala D'or probably has more for younger kiddies e.g. shops to potter around, beaches, the port where there are boats to look at and fish to feed and the little tourist train you can sit on and drive around to view the area (passes at least 1/2 :-) ) |
