I live in the States and just got back from a long vacation in Bali.

It is unbelievable! It is an amazing tropical, oasis with a local culture.

I highly recommend you visit this place.

I enjoyed: an elephant safari, monkey sanctuary, surfing, shopping, touring, and amazing Indonesian food, the Temples are also amazing!

it's an island in indonesia and i live in indonesia. just 6 hours drive from my city to go to bali. i love being in bali and love the beaches.

A few quick things about bali:
1. it is an island which is located just next to the end of Java island.
2. Indonesia is divided into 3 time zones, bali local time is same with Malaysia and Spore, or an hour forward from Jakarta (the capital city of Indonesia)
3. Bali is a beautiful island , rich for its beach resort, adventure, culture. similar to Phuket for thailand and langkawi for malaysia.
4. Majority people in bali is Hindu (about 90%++) unlike most indonesian which is moeslim. so pork is welcomed here
5. Bali welcomes tourist as USD and AUD currency are well accepted. Bali is said to be the second home of Ozzie =)
6. Bali is often rated THE best tourist spot in the world together with paradise such as hawaii and mauritus.
7. Bali can be reach by about an hour flight from Jakarta International Airport. There are connecting flights direct from major places such as sydney, melbourne, queensland, spore, KL, Johor, Phuket, Bangkok, Beijing, Taiwan, HK , tokyo, Kyoto, adelaide, Shanghai and LA.
