Don't you ever get sick of the haze?

because the rest of South East Asia are sick of receiving your annual haze "present".

Would your govt do something to make all these annual haze to go away? It's fine if you love your haze and the haze stay in Indonesia and won't travel to the rest of South East Asia, but the problem is, it does.

actually the ASEAN govts have meets regarding about this and the Indoneasia govt refuse to agree =/

Who on earth say that we love the spread of haze in Indonesia and throughout South East Asia? I have enough of pollution in my country, but pathetically the government and ASEAN leader especially has done nothing to stop it. As long as they gain more money from it, they will absolutely show no concern about the environmental degradation.

Many Malaysian and Singaporean-owned companies in Sumatra burn the forest to open new palm oil plantations. This method is very quick and cheap. But at the end it produces haze and the wind blows the haze back to Malaysia and Singapore.
So if you want to blame somebody, just blame those malaysian and singaporean companies.

I agree, haze, smog and air pollution is becoming a problem not just for the neighboring countries, but also Indonesia itself. Unfortunately, it is a very serious and complicated issue to deal with, since it involves higher ups that in public are committed to combating illegal logging, but in private are not to the extent of receiving money to keep quiet about it.

I feel sorry for the neighboring countries tho, I think those governments should raise up the issue at the annual ASEAN meeting and penalize Indonesia for not cooperating.

it's the world problems. not just indonesia or indonesians.
after all we are suppose to be the heart of the world with all these tropical forest. so we need help, financial help to cultivate the forest for the world.

aiyooo... easy la.. all politics are like that.. y dun u ask the americans what the think about iraq war... most of them will tell u that they detest it but wat an they do abt it??? correcto??? ;)

Hmmm, it's a shame that people just come in here and spew nonsense and blame Indonesians for haze problems. The haze exists because of poor management to clear up forests.

Oh and if you don't want the haze, then you should wish that no rain ever comes to South East Asia too, since that's part of the route that winds carry clouds to your country.

I'm guessing you are either Malaysian or Singaporean, so you have no idea how the world works, and the haze that has been coming to you every year came from greedy businessmen/women coming from your country, and yes, if might not be prudent to blame it all on your countrymen/women, but we do have a share of fault in the government, and unfortunately, government officials in Indonesia are prone to bribery.
Thus, unless you have an idea on how to make Indonesia bribe-free and how to clear forests easier and cheaper than cut-and-burn technique, you will get less haze delivery on your doorstep every year.
