Why does the US give more foreign aid to Indonesia than the PI?

Is this fair?

Indonesia plays important role. abundant natural resources that being exploit by the US so... giving aid to Indonesia is eventually helping the US company to be able to live nicely with all that newly built infrastructure. and like that page it self says, to counteract china's growing influence. after all a lot of chinese descendant here in Indonesia plays major roles in business that links to the mainland china.

I guess you're referring to PI as the colonial name for the Philippine Islands just like CA is for California or NY is for New York.

I think the only part of the Philippines that needs financial aid is Mindanao.

Im a Filipino and I think the reason why the US is giving more foreign aid to Indonesia is because US wants to get the approval of Indonesians unlike here in the Philippines where our President and other high government officials are already "kiss-***" of the US. Our president is already a puppet of the US. Whatever the US dictates our president abides.

It's all politics. Indonesia is the largest Muslim country in the world, and thus working together with the Indonesian government can help the US in tracking down Islamic militants, namely the JI (the Indonesian extension of Al Qaeda). You know, having foreign aid is not always a good thing. Money that's being given by these so called charities like IMF, World Bank, are used to further the US agenda and has little to show for improvement in Indonesia. Of course, having one of the most corrupted government in the world poaching the aid money also doesn't help. Sigh..
