Do you know Indonesia? if so, can u give some opinion??

maybe for some people, they just know Bali.. but Bali is one of province in Indonesia.. so what's ur opinion..

opinion about? the culture? political stance? economy? the people? or simply about Indonesia in general? well Indonesia in general is rich in natural resources but alas, it's not properly manage by its government. nice people, suppose to be raw model moslem for the world for the ability to coexist with others full of tolerance towards others (Indonesia is the largest moslem population in the world)

Bali is more famous that Indonesia
http://allaboutbali-info.blogspot.com/

yes I m from indonesia. the country have much agriculture

I don't know much about Indonesia but I like Indonesian. The people are friendly and generous. I want to visit there some day.

Bali is an Island not a province.

People are nice here. But the government is very miserable to its people. Raising prices of daily commodity almost once every 3 months.

i am indonesian, i i'd say you gotta visit the volcanoes there.... and also bali, because it's very fun out there... well still, it is heavily polluted, and in jakarta, the busway that has been recently built contributes to so much traffic... but if you have gotten used to facing that... you will be a very happy person in this cozy environment according to me...

Indonesia conquered, colonized, and is still illegally occupying West Papua New Guinea (Irian Jaya).

Indonesia is depriving the native Melanesian people of West Papua of their sovereignty. Nearly one third of this ethnic population have disappeared!!! Many others, including women and children, have been tortured and murdered.

" . . . since the Indonesians set foot on Papuan soil, human rights abuses have been the rule of the day. . . . the Indonesian quest had been Papuan slaves and the birds of paradise. Since 1962 however the quest has been for the rich mineral deposits [gold, copper, nickel, oil etc.], the vast virgin forest with its timber.
"Political prisoners and detainees in Irian Jaya continue to be subjected to ill treatment and torture by police and military authorities, particularly in the early stages of their detention. Indonesian security forces have also been responsible for the extrajudicial execution and 'disappearances' of suspected OPM activists and sympathizers both in Irian Jaya and Papua New Guinea."

of course i know indonesia. i'm come from indonesia. sometimes it's a shame that people know bali but they don't know indonesia. but bali is just one of hundreds islands in indonesia.

um, i'm from indonesia and i know a lot about it.

my opinion? hm, indonesia is a great country, with islam as the religion majority. most of people there work in agriculture. it has beautiful nature and various traditions. it's a rich country--well, if the leaders wise. you know, most of officials here aren't wise and they have corruptor potention. we have inflation at least once a month. education there is also not effective. we just memorizing the theory, not much outdoor activity or analizing. and well, you could say i'm a student here....
yeah, the most famous place in indonesia is bali. but unluckily, people only know it. some of them are also say bali is bali, bali is an island, not a part of indonesia. it makes me sad.

I went to Jakarta last summer for business. The malls are big (the best thing in Jakarta). The food is good, you should eat Sate.

But some street people are just asking for money everywhere you go. Whenever you park, whenever you stop at the traffic light, there are always people begging you for small tip. I think the gov should order these people where to ask for money. I don't mean to prohibit beggars. They just need to be told to stand at a more appropriate spot for asking money. Traffic light is very dangerous spot for asking money. It does not look good either.

'mrnoright', Bali is BOTH an island AND a province.

'tequila', we do NOT occupy Papua. They're the one who wanted to join the Republic. O please, don't even start to debate about this. Why don't you just help us to solve the poverty problem there, rather than whining about who's in whose territory.

I'm an Indonesian. Born here, raised here, will die here. No matter what happen, I will always love this country.

Yes I know Indonesia. I have been living here for almost eighteen years (that means my whole life).
A great country (hope this isn't too objective) which has great history, landscape, cultures, customs.

I really like our current president. Bravo, Mr SBY!!! I'll vote for you in the 2009 General Election!

ehehehe.....

Indonesia has lots of islands, but probably most foreigners knew only Jakarta and Bali than the rest of the country.

The government will still be corrupt-heavy till probably the day I die (I'm 28, so I'm hoping to live at least 80), The atmosphere here is getting dryer everyday, though foreigners would find it really humid. Indonesia has only 2 seasons compared to most other European countries, dry and rainy.
Sate is spelled satay or shish-kabob(sp?) in US. Actually, the choice for meat on sate, can be any meat you can think of, and yes, some of us here do eat dogs and snakes *shrugs* it's just a habit.

The provinces are already growing in number, I think the last count was 33 provinces, even after East Timor left the fold.

Indonesia is indeed the largest muslim-populated country in the world, and probably 2nd or 3rd most corrupt in South East Asia, 1st would be Myanmar/Burma.

Other than the bad governments, the people are nice, and no matter what there will be beggars/money panderers on the street. Laws can be made here, but the officials will always be able to be bribed. Oh yeah, Intelectual property rights over here are not being upheld really good, since you can almost buy a good rip-off of DVDs, PC games or PS2 games in just about anywhere in here, especially in Jakarta.

Food are great, you can choose a wide variety from Javanese cuisine to Padang, heck if you went over here just to sample the food, it would take a lifetime to do so or probably like 20 years to do it, if you make it your life to be a food critic.

Java island is way too-overcrowded, just for a comparison, Australia's population is only half of East Java province population, while the total land of East Java does not even come to one tenth to Australia. Jakarta is the most crowded city in Indonesia, followed by Medan and Surabaya.

I'm Indonesian, i leave in Bali, I'm Balinese. Bali is small island in Indonesia. I love my country so please come to our country and stay at my beautiful village in Bali and enjoy our beautiful country. visit this website to explore Bali island http://www.balisightseeing.com

I'm from Chinese descent, but I was born and raised in Indonesia. The island Bali is, I think one of the few places in Indonesia that's still beautiful. The government in Indo is pretty bad, with corruption and stuff. For safety now it's pretty good except beware of pickpockets, etc. But never underestimate it. It's definitely NOT as safe as America/a lot of other places. But the people are usually really friendly.
I think that Indonesia is a beautiful land that's getting ruined.

I'm not sure what exactly you're asking. But in my opinion, Bali is more famous because it's a tourist destination therefore received a lot of exposures (more than Indonesia). And a lot of the ignorant tourists are mistakenly think Bali is the country.

@mrnoright: your answer is totally wrong, Bali is an island AND a province by itself.

welcome anyway, believe in me please come. warranty safety, everything is cheaper in Indonesia than the other country. for example ; a bowl of bakso ( meat ball ) only ( 1 dollar) or 10.000 rupiahs plus a glass of coke. don't worry and be happy. See u in Indonesia
