Would someone in Jakarta, Indonesia be in danger of the quakes that are happening in Sumatra?

If it's a big one, you might feel some of it, if you are in a highrise, you may feel the building sway. When I lived in Indonesia, even if we couldn't actually feel the ground shake, the water in the fish tank and pool would slosh over the sides and provide a little show for us. You may see a building or two in the city with a crack where one wasn't before, building damage is not unheard of.

So far there is no danger.only the nearby padang,in sumatra had some incidents.

hehe.... dont panic. jakarta is in java island and next to it (west) is sumatra island. for exact location of quake site try google earth.

who cares... its about time the Gods sink that filthy island...
