Visiting Hawaii In May? |
My husband and I will be visiting Maui and Oahu for 2 weeks in May. We are looking for nice hotel's on the beach if possible. We are not looking for cheap places, but not wanting to pay $1000 a night either. Thanks guys. I am finding your infor really helpful. My 3 teens and I were in Hawaii for 3 weeks this last July/August 10 days on Oahu and 11 on Maui...we had an Ocean Front room at the Outrigger Waikiki on Oahu..I believe it was right around $600-650.00 per night...but you can get Ocean View or Partial ocean view for quite a bit less...$3-400.00 per night...Close to everything with alot to offer as far as entertainment...On Maui The Kaanapali Beach Resort is great as well as Kaanapali Alii...Maui Sheraton and The Hyatt.. I would recommend using a service like expedia. They will list several hotels and you can view user comments. I'm planning a vacation (possibly to Hawaii more likely FL) at around the same time. So maybe I'll see you there :) Maui has this best places. some are called the Wailea Ekahi and the grand Wailea I like the Sheraton Black Rock in Maui and in Oahu try the Sheraton Waikiki Beach. Both offer great locations, nice rooms and will not break the bank. Congratulations on your 30th Anniversary. Are you willing to consider condos? We've been to several of the islands and Oahu is my least favorite. Honolulu is just like any other big city with a spattering of palm trees thrown in. In my opinion, if you don't like crowds and you want to feel more like you are in Hawaii, then I would suggest Turtle Bay Resort. It is on the North Shore, about 45 minutes drive from the airport. The rooms are fairly nice... it is a pretty old resort, but has undergone a complete renovation. There are some beautiful sand beaches nearby that are virtually deserted. Also, there are MILES of walking paths to explore, stables, and two championship golf courses. They have a really good website www.turtlebayresort.com. There are some good restaurants on the property, and a general store. The down side is that there isn't much else nearby as far as restaurants but there are some amazing fresh fruit stands and of course there's always Giovanis shrimp truck that has some pretty amazing fresh shrimp. Have a great trip... Hawaii is heaven on earth. Happy Anniversary!! Any where you stay on the islands will be nice ...just make sure to tell them its your 30th anniversary!! |
