Is it safe to boil tap water and drink this for teain the Dominican Republic?

I know to only drink bottled water. But can I safely drink tea made from boiled tap water? I want to avoid any traveler's illnesses!

As long as it's boiled it should be fine. Take some Pepto-
Bismol along too. I've always told all my friends that I do testimonials for Pepto-Bismol.... in fact, I think they should pay me to do commercials!

It pays to be careful and follow the rules to drink bottled water and drinks with no ice, etc... Having said that, we eat salads and brush our teeth with tap water and usually have no problems. But check out our page on Pepto-Bismol.

Boiling it should be okay, but make sure it's a rolling boil for a minimum of two minutes.
Imodium A-D is good for a bad case of the runs. You can get it over the counter in drug stores. Buy it before you go.
I wish I had avoided dairy products. I think I got sick in Mexico from the cream on top of my Irish coffee.
