I am petrified of flying, I am going to Rome in a week...HELP!?

Xanax, ever heard of it, you need to get some. They will calm you down dramatically and block you from having a panic attack. You need to go see your doc, explain that you are petrified and I guarantee he will give you something to calm you, Xanax is what I would ask for.

It's very normal for people to have a fear of flying, i don't exactly love it myself at all but once it's over you enjoy yourself wherever you have landed, and your going to Rome! what a beautiful place. What you need to know is that nothing can go wrong while flying that would harm you in ways of death or anything, and planes crashing are extremely rare. Nobody really likes flying, you feel sick, fatigued and the food is bad in my opinion. Just don't worry, make the big step of taking the flight and when it's over to and from your destination you will feel extremely proud of yourself. Overcoming your fears are very important. Go to the doctor and get yourself some antianxiety pills. Or take a crap ton of Benadryl or Nyquil to knock yourself out!!! Good luck. Flying isn't that bad, just don't sit in the far back if you are that afraid. My dad is a pilot for AA and they go through TONS of training on every possilbe scenario that could happen. And trust me, he has had to use some of that. It is their smart actions and training that keep the airline industry so safe. It is much safer than driving your car everyday!!

You are not alone! Many people are afraid to fly. Flying is a very unnatural act and it takes a lot of courage to surrender control of your life to some very competant, highly qualified, superbly trained pilots whom you do not know.

We only hear about the occasional plane that crashes and the numbers of people who died. Why do we never hear about the 10s of thousands of flights that take off and land safely everyday around the world. Realistically, flying is the safest mode of commercial transportation in the world.

If you still need a little courage to fly, get a valium frm your doctor or a bottle of scotch from the local liquor store.
