Skydriving is safe or not ?

How can I make sure
nobody will drive his plane and hit me when I am freefall ?
people always make mistake..........
but ..............
only 35 people die in skydriving a year,
so it is safe, right?

You are not allowed to sky dive through clouds - you don't have the required instrumentation (no could you correct your course to avoid another). The plane you are jumping from should be in contact with air traffic controllers who will reroute other air traffic around your sky diving area. People who die, usually do so because of equipment malfunctions (there is no shortage of stupidity either).

You are required to take many hours of training before you are allowed to jump. Initially you jump using a "static line" (the chute is pulled when you jump, right away). You then have to work your way up to actual sky diving (i.e. freefall). You can, however, do a "tandem jump" where you are strapped to another (experienced) sky diver. That's how my wife and I did it. No training, on your part required (okay, a half an hour video, and about 10 minutes of discussion with the sky diver, but that's about it). You could do that and see if you actually like it.

i think it is...along as you have a pro with you. Im going sky diving when im older (:

it's perfectly safe. Those 35 people dead are just people who try to do stupid stunts or didn't get their equipments checked before they jumped.

Its safe go four the plunge.

Without Parachute 100% Unsafe
With .... Your local club can tell :-)

Is that the same as "skydiving"? Take off's are optional. Landings are ""mandatory"". Is driving a car safe?

Well it depends...
1. You'll stop breathing for about 50 seconds.
2. You can get cuts from the frost in the clouds.
3. May cause permanent face-lift because so much air is hitting your face. (just kidding)
4. Scared of heights. (maybe)
5. It's fun :]

if your lead by someone who knows what they're doing,
theyll only take you to places where planes wont fly into you,
obviously there is a higher risk skydiving, than a lot of other sports/activities,

get a profesional and ,
go for it !

Well, half a million people every year are injured in automobile accidents, but I don't see you not riding in a car. You are also more likely to break your leg on stairs than be bitten by a shark while snorkeling, but you don't go diving into a feeding frenzy.

It's a question of acceptable risk and preparation. If you are with a professional, reputable school, the risk is minimized as much as possible.

Go jump out of a plane :o)

Any sports you get into have risks. Accidents happen when you least expect it. There are no 100% safe sports. Wearing protective gear and checking gadgets to use are some preventions.
lt helps to be with pro people on that sport you wish to indulge.

safe enough, until you jump out of the airplane.

Then.... depnds on who and how your chute was rolled up, and how collected you are to pull the cord at the right moment.

I was out cutting the grass one day in my yard when some body came out of the sky and hit the concrete right near the clothesline. bad enough to hear all the bones break, and a funny sort of noise people make when they die. His chute didn't open

Sure cured me, I never went skydiving. can still hear the crack like it was 5 seconds ago, instead of 42 years ago, Skydivers sure scarred my brain and memory for life- sure did!

If you decide to do this, most insurance plans won't cover you from that day on, if they find out about your hobby. Course if you're dead, won't matter anyway. whats your number anyway? pick a number bewteen 1 to 35... I'm serious. never doubt the power of random probability
