Altitude Sickness help!? |
Whenever I go into the mountains I always get really bad altitude sickness. I get dizzy and I feel really sick. We don't go that often but when we do I would like to feel good and be able to enjoy it. Any advice? Take dramameen the one that says doesnt cause drowzeness.Youll feel great. My daughter gets the same way she gets car sick when we go to the mts.not anymore after using that stuff its great. Drink lots and lots of water, avoid alcohol and take it easy the first few days! stay calm and try to have like some medicine to help out You can go to the doctor ahead of time (a few days) and get an infusion of red blood cells. This will help to carry more oxygen and alleviate the symptoms. Note, this will NOT give you license to ski all day and not get sick to your stomach! Some doctors won't do this, however, so you might try using a diuretic to remove excess fluid, thereby upping your blood pressure a little bit and making the symptoms less severe. Good luck, and be safe! Make sure you are properly fed and hydrated before you go, that may be part of the problem. Maybe the Air from the Mountains make you fell nocious im guessing maybe also the smell of it.....is there any smelling part of the mountain that you dislike/ maybe that makes u get sick...................Idk im just guessing but i hope it helped a bit. Me too, so go to your local drugstore. They have meds to take to prevent it and is well worth it and isn't all that expensive. Why suffer when help is available. I think one of them is Dramamine taken a half hour before boarding a plane, for example. Ask your druggist/pharmacist. Try this.... Dont look above the horizon.... look at the ground... Its not about how high u are, but how high ur body thinks u are... its all mental... trick urself.... I come from the Rockies. Drink water and breath deep, don't get too physical the first day or so. Higher altitudes, the air is thinner, so deep breathing helps. You may not be cut out for higher altitudes. |
