Are Air Canada's 777-300ER Executive First Class Seats Safe?

Please don't take offence, I was just wondering because of the way that the seats are positioned. They are at an angle to the direction of movement, so in an event of an accident are you more likely to sustain injury because you are being forced to your side instead of forward like if you were sitting in economy. Do you still brace in the event of an accident or do you have to do something else?

Also, I heard of some airlines with backward facing seats. Are they safe?

Airlines would not invest mega bucks into these ventures if they did not think they were safe!!!
They do endless amounts of testing and put the seats thru their paces and wont install them on their aircraft untill they are 110% sure that it is a safe thing to do.
As for being in a brace position on our aircraft if you are positioned rearward then your brace postion is different to that if sitting forward and it is perfectly safe to do both brace positions.
Work for BA

yes they are as safe as any seat on the aircraft in the event of an emergency you would have to brace just like anyone else all the seats have to be safe before the aircraft can be given a licence to fly fare paying passengers

They must have passed the crash test by the Air Safety Board.

Rear facing seats have been proved to be the safest but passengers do not like them.

,I cant answer this question but i believe you will die where ever you sit or or how you are strapped in if its your turn to go .i hope my theory is never tested on you my darling.
